But what troubles Atticus the most is that Alena--once one of the world's most dangerous assassins and a woman who fears nothing--is clearly terrified of what he's uncovered. And as Atticus gets closer to learning why, the closer he gets to destroying the life they have made, and each other.

Great story

Great story with lots of action and twists and turns. Also great narration. Highly recommend.

Nothing will stop this guy on a mission

The adventures of Atticus seem to be almost superhuman. The amount of physical abuse he takes makes the story rather implausible. But the intensity of the human trafficking elements make you want to find out more. It was a roller coaster ride that I couldn't stop listening to. Looking forward to the next novel.

YES, J.D. makes this story come to life.

What did you like best about this story?

This is a dark adventure. The synopsis was wrong as it should of have said, "girl left behind". If you don't like human trafficking stories, then this is not for you. This is my first of this author. I purchased the 2 stories read by Jonathan Davis as he is my current fave reader and took a chance on this author. This author is not for me, or at lease this subject matter turned me off. I will have to re evaluate author after my 2nd listen J.D. reads.

Which scene was your favorite?

This has great characters and J.D. makes them all wonderful. His does a great job with the female voices which is so very hard for most male readers.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Even though the subject was dark, yes, you are complied to listen in one sitting.

Audible, if Jonathan Davis has an AKA for romance genre, please reply as I am not a Sci Fi listener. Reader did an outstanding performance for Sandra Brown's Mean Streak, Mystery/romance.
