When Bill and his friends accidentally witness a homicide by two hitmen known only as Fat Boy and Cobra Man, everyone but Bill is slaughtered. After escaping by the skin of his teeth, Bill runs to his Uncle Hank, who reluctantly gets involved, and together, they begin a clandestine takedown of Fat Boy and Cobra Man that leads them to something much darker, much more unspeakable than simple murder or revenge. Waltz of Shadows, a novel not for the feint of heart, is Lansdale at his darkest.

Was pretty good. It kept my interest. Pretty sexually explicit at times but the story line fit well with it.

Not bad

No one writes modern noir | pulp | horror | thrillers like Joe R Lansdale, and WALZ OF SHADOWS doesn’t disappoint. The narrator is clearly talented, but

Fabulous Book, Miscast Narrator

If you like the 70s style Grindhouse movies, villains with zero depth and no redeeming qualities whatsoever, or loved the medieval part of Pulp Fiction (but wanted less clever dialogue or style), then by all means, this book may be for you. Lots of men and women get knives and other objects shoved into their holes. Lots of bodily fluids and sick torture. Why this has a cartoon cover is beyond me. I was expecting something along the lines of Carl Hiaasen, but this was more like Natural Born Killers with even more of the graphic parts left in. No thanks.

Depravity and sexual torture
