Al Miller’s worst fears of the Trensmyan’s current capabilities are confirmed. Now he has to convince a sitting monarch to evacuate all his citizens, all twenty-one million of them. They also need to remove all the usable supplies that could be of use to the Trensmyan soldiers.

Jack Prable is made the official commander of First Battalion. If that isn’t enough, he stupidly opens his mouth about a good idea. He soon finds himself on the back of a stupid beast he doesn’t want to be within a hundred yards of.

Thom Mellin’s forces have helped the Norwan Navy and Marines clear the Belleren Ral of pirates, now they get to do the same thing in the Mallern Strait. Along the way, he can’t help himself from teasing Al’s big sister.
