With his evil plot to eradicate Christians from Africa underway, Abu Yusuf, the Nigerian terrorist leader of Boko Haram, knows he has struck gold with the kidnapping of American pastor Paul Rowland. And now he’s threatening more bloodshed if the U.S. doesn’t give in to his every demand.

Deciding the U.S. can no longer sit idly by with the rise of Christian persecution around the world, President Schumacher says it is time to act. And with the retirement of the Secretary of State, the President knows Alexandra Julian is the right person for the job of securing the pastor’s release. But not everyone is on board with her nomination. Eyeing a run for the White House, Senator Wayne Tobin, backed by the powerful defense industry, knows his best chance for success is not diplomacy but all-out war. And even Alexandra’s husband, covert operative Duke Schiffer, is dead-set against it—until the President makes him an offer he can’t refuse.

Emboldened with his prized hostage, Yusuf decides to show his growing jihadist power by attempting to assassinate Secretary Julian in Nigeria. Once reluctant to get involved, the attack on Alexandra gives Schiffer a new mission—rescue Pastor Rowland before it’s too late. With some in Washington banging the drums for military action and Yusuf’s threats increasing, Schiffer must race to stop Yusuf before he can kill Pastor Rowland and unleash a worldwide holy war.

The religious tone

too much of a religious tone which distracted from the story and dulled the story
