Terry Goodkind's New York Times bestseller, Warheart, is the direct sequel to, and the conclusion of, the story begun in The Omen Machine, The Third Kingdom, and Severed Souls.

All is lost. Evil will soon consume the D'Haran Empire. Richard Rahl lies on his funeral bier. It is the end of everything.

Except what isn't lost is Kahlan Amnell. Following an inner prompting beyond all reason, the last Confessor will wager everything on a final desperate gambit, and in so doing, she will change the world forever.

The world Terry Goodkind has built is very cool... confessors, the seeker, first wizard, mord sith... they are all great, original ideas. (though I would have preferred to avoid zombies/half people) Out of all the books since the main series ended with Confessor, I feel this is his strongest work. The one thing that really gets to me though, is he repeats himself... repeatedly... over and over again. It feels like he doesn't trust the reader to pick up a concept from hearing about it once so parts of the book feel pretty drawn out while rehashing the same concept over and over again. I actually flipped to 1.5x quite a few times when I felt like the story needed to move on.

Overall, I thought it was a very entertaining read with just a few parts that needed to pick up the pace. If you've read this far into the series, absolutely spend a credit here. If you haven't, start with Wizard's First Rule... not Warheart.

Great world, interesting characters

This book makes everything before it totally worth reading - even though Goodkind can be endlessly frustrating with constantly repeating himself over and over in his novels. His characters are intriguing and you can't help but care about what happens to them though, which I think it why his readers keep coming back to his world in each of his novels. I couldn't stop listening to this book once I started it.

Worth it!

It was so nice to follow this series from the beginning. I wished this story would never end. My only gripe is wanting more for Richard and Kalin. They struggled for so long. I'd love to see how the "golden age" plays out. If this is truly the end... Well done!

I have to say the ride that Terry Goodkind has given us since Wizards First Rule have been one of the best and that I have and I believe all of us that are true fans believe in saying that it is a shame that it had to end but what a ending it was.
