In After the Waves, Sandi was a conservative housewife when the nation was attacked on US soil and the country was in chaos...follow her to the sequel where she turns from housewife to hunter.

Sandi used to sleep with Jimmy, her man. Now she slept with her AK-47 with a detachable scope. Her Bible lay dusty in the cab of the truck. Readjusting her backpack as a makeshift pillow, she tried again to fall asleep, but always the nightmares of the past years haunted her.

Sandi wasn't the fun, happy, busy girl she used to be. The Opposition took what she most held dear. She could barely stomach the horrifying images in her head. This time, she was not going to let it go.

Sandi was headed for the refugee camp to try to meet up with the Lewellen Opposition party that stole her life. She sketched those faces into her memory with a red-hot iron; the redheaded man with green eyes and a mustache, the black-haired guy with the stone-cold brown eyes, and the Asian guy with the fu manchu. They were her prey and she was their hunter. Until they were dead, she could not live again.

Building a series

I felt this second in the series was actually better than the first book. The story felt more believable and the characters lifelike. Verbal performance was very good. I am looking forward to the final book of the trilogy.

Excellent. Great story. Reader became Sandi and used her voice well for other characters. Story held my attention. It was touching and uplifting with a nicely woven plot. I can hardly wait to read the third in this trilogy.

Oh my god!!!

What a book, I can't wait to start book three of this amazing trilogy!!!

In this instalment of the series we fallow Sandi's journey for revenge in the wake of her husbands death. She's made a vow to herself to kill the three men responsible for Jimmy's murder.

With the help of some new and old friends she sets out on a journey to find and kill these men. Good lord the I'm starting to think that women could survive anything... after infiltrating there base camp and killing two of the three men single handily, Sandi is shot and is taking by a group of people who were sent in to help her.

Bring in a new man to confuse her even more. Still reeling from Jimmy's death she finds it hard to understand how she could have feelings for Josh, an ex special ops solder.

Loved the book and I can't wait to read book three!!!!

Good follow up second book in the series

A great post apocalyptic series. like with the first book, I thought it was an engaging and interesting story that was well narrated (even with the change in readers).

Uneven story promising author and great narration

I had listened to the first book in the series. I was looking to the second and third. It was interesting to see the change in the main character ( a early middle aged mother ) Ashley ( a alias the character uses ). She becomes stronger and hardened from a rather soft housewife. The issue I had with her portrayal was so uneven. In the early part of the book she is the right out of natural born killers. Then later in the book she confronts one of the killers of her husband and is in a life and death struggle and starts crying. Huh ? Her life is on the line and she starts crying ? The same person that was a natural born killer. Whatever ... then he is on top of her and choking her. She stabs him in the heart from under his rib cage. Huh ? What was it a small sword ? The heart is in the upper chest it would be very difficult to do. These are the types of things that distract. If you propose a situation try and and see if it would work. Otherwise it’s uneven

Enough of the bad. The part I liked was Ashley was tough and clever. Her concern was for others first and foremost. She was a survivor and the author did a nice job of showing the crossroads she hit as a Christian woman “ thou shall not murder “ to some people need to die mentality.

She was used as a tool ( unknowingly) as a tool of the Lords rage she was told in a dream

The narrator was good. She did a nice job being the sexy spider voice to a crazed rage filled woman that’s crazy angry.
