We Were Everything is not just a story it’s a collection of scars.

It’s the ache of friendships that burned bright and then burned out. It’s the quiet spaces grief leaves behind, the laughter that almost saves you, and the sticky notes of memory you wish you could tear off and keep forever.

Told in fragments, poetry, and raw honesty, this is the story of two girls who were everything to each other until they weren’t. It’s about heartbreak that doesn’t always come from romance, and survival that looks softer than you think.

For anyone who has lost a friend and found themselves in the silence that followed this audiobook is for you.

I loved this quick listen—it felt soul cleansing. If you’ve ever known the pain of losing a friendship, you’ll appreciate this book. The story is told mostly from one POV, following someone trying to process that loss, but you also get little peeks into the other characters, which is really helpful.

One example is how you can sense that things might have turned out differently if the main antagonist had had a healthier relationship with her parents—or honestly, any adult who could have helped her process her emotions.

For me, this was a must-listen at 2x speed. The story lives inside someone’s head, and my inner voice moves fast lol.
