Five months after being deployed to Iraq, Lima Company's 1st Platoon became one of the first American forces to enter Fallujah, where they encountered some of the most intense hand-to-hand combat since World War II. Civilians were used as human shields or as bait to lure soldiers into buildings rigged with explosives; suicide bombers approached from every corner hoping to die and take Americans with them; radical insurgents, high on adrenaline, fought to the death.

This is true and detailed on what our troops have sacrificed. I cannot image what they live with to this day.

Legendary Marines doing what Marines do

Every politician that thinks we need involved in police actions around the globe should have a copy of this book read to him sitting on the grounds of Arlington cemetery. An awesome account of Marines doing the deal and young men being thrust into battle.

My son

My oldest son was in 3/1. He’s never told me about his war. Reading this book has helped me understand him better after coming home and leaving the Marines. He’s got the Purple Heart and 100% disabled. Working for the VA to help others to get their benefits.
