Life isn't fair. Most women know it. But what can you do about it? Plenty...if you're part of the Sisterhood. On the surface, these seven women are as different as can be - but each has had her share of bad luck, from cheating husbands to sexist colleagues to a legal system that often doesn't do its job. Now, drawn together by tragedy, they're forging a bond that will help them right the wrongs committed against them and discover an inner strength they didn't know they had. Growing bolder with each act of justice, the Sisterhood is learning that when bad things happen, you can roll over and play dead...or you can get up fighting...

In the tradition of The First Wives' Club, Weekend Warriors is a slam-bang, take-no-prisoners tale of survival, sweet revenge, and the healing power of friendship.

I enjoyed this book and all of the characters. Sitting on the edge of the seat. Well wrote. Very descriptive. I could see as I read what was going on.

Exhilarating

The cover of these books had me a little hesitant. It was giving Debbie Macomber or hallmark romance movie vibes. I LOVED the author’s Texas Rich series so I gave it a chance and I’m glad that I did. It had a edge to it that I wasn’t expecting. The way the women carry out the plan is very much mission impossible. That is to say ridiculous and you have to suspend your disbelief and that was easy for me to do because I liked the characters and wanted to see them succeed in their mission. The pacing was quick and got straight to the point. Only things I didn’t like was the Nikki character. She was kind of a wet blanket. I got where she was coming from but… still. And her talking to the ghost would pull me out every time. The stereotyping of Yoko, too.

Overall. It was cool. Definitely would read the next one.

The Weekend Warriors is the first book in the Sisterhood series. I picked it up since I won a Goodreads giveaway of the 34th book in the series and wanted to get an intro to the characters before tackling that one 😅 It was definitely a fun story about a group of women teaming up to exact revenge on the men who have wronged them in their lives. It was a good premise and entertaining - I particularly liked Catherine and Yoko - but it was just missing something to make it a stand out for me. I’ll probably read a few more in the series - I think it’ll be interesting to get to know the characters more - but likely not all 30-something of them 😅

Fun Story

This is the first in a suspense series in which the amount of action and quirky characters fit perfectly together. A very smooth operation is pulled off by non professionals to right a horrible wrong that each of them feel equally motivated to vindicate. I enjoyed this very entertaining story by Fern Michaels that was made great by Laural Merlington's narrative. Not quite a cozy because of some of the brutality and lack of sexy romance, but would definitely be a fun dramady for the big screen. I will be reading more in this series.
