The Kokoro Clinic for the Soul reopens in this delightful follow-up to the award-winning, bestselling Japanese novel We'll Prescribe You a Cat.

It’s time to revisit the Kokoro Clinic for the Soul.

Though it’s a mysteriously located clinic with an uncertain address, it can always be found by those who need it. And the clinic has proven time after time that a prescribed cat has the power to heal the emotional wounds of its patients. This charming sequel introduces a new lovable cast of healing cats, from Kotetsu, a four-month-old Bengal who unleashes his boundless energy by demolishing bed linens and curtains, to tenacious and curious Shasha, who doesn’t let her small size stop her from anything, and the most lovable yet lazy cat Ms. Michiko, who is as soft and comforting as mochi.

As characters from one chapter appear as side characters in the next, we follow a young woman who cannot help pushing away the man who loves her, a recently widowed grandfather whose grandson refuses to leave his room, the family of a young woman who struggle to understand each other, and an anxious man who works at a cat shelter seeking to show how the most difficult cats can be the most rewarding. This moving, magical novel of interconnected tales proves the strength in the unfathomable bond between cats and people.

Its hard to find a feel good book. I dont love hearing about cat breeders or that bred cats are used for some of these stories, but cats are wonderful and this magical story does a great job telling you why. I wish these books were 48 hours long. The stories will keep you smiling

“Please don’t cling to your need to avoid regret.”

Why…why is this the greatest of all unexpectedly cozy fantasy series? I used to be all in on “Legends & Lattes,” but this is way up there.

It’s like that old Vertigo Comic, “100 Bullets,” but instead of a man bringing you a hundred bullets and a file showing that your travails have a human cause that can be eliminated, this series has a doctor who analyzes you quickly and prescribes you a cat that can fix your problems just by forcing you to take care of a creature that is uniquely suited to alter your negative behaviors while giving you a better understanding of your own psyche.

Yes, totally for cat-friendly folks only, but a deeply felt, brilliant series. Can’t wait for Book 3 this September.

I love how the author pulls in the story in different directions but in end are connected in some way. The characters are relatable and sometimes funny.

Another fantastic book

This is becoming one of my new favorite genres. The stories of cats being assigned to help people are entertaining and at times sad (much like how life can be at times) i’m looking forward to another follow on story. I feel there is more remaining to do for the two at Nakagyō Kokoro Clinic for the Soul.

Another great cat story

The first book was great -- so sweet and mystical etc. I just don't know what happened here. I hung in through a weird obsession with cat poop inspection and even a bladder infection. But vivid descriptions of cats suffering and dying through massive neglect with graphic detail. NO. I literally switched off the book off. What the heck.

Oh dear God no
