An ancient evil awakens on the storm-lashed coast.

For the tourists flocking to Valentia Island's annual festival, the jagged rock of Skellig Michael is a picturesque landmark. For Caleb O'Rourke, it's a final, desperate sanctuary—a place so remote, he hopes the beast inside him can finally be contained.

But the island is not a refuge. It is a cage.

When a full moon rises over the Atlantic, a primal hunger is unleashed. The fishing trawler returning to the festival carries a passenger of pure, instinctual slaughter. What begins as a night of celebration descends into a bloodbath as a creature of Irish folklore, a ravenous cú faoil, tears through the unprepared community.

Trapped between a raging storm and a monster from their ancestors' darkest tales, the last survivors must fight their way back to the holy ground of Skellig Michael. They believe its ancient stones will grant them protection. They are wrong.

I can't judge the material too harshly, as I didn't finish it. I had to stop after an hour. The virtual voice was unbearable. A horror book, with characters screaming, panicking, and terrified, is read with the careful calm of someone reading a dollar store romance novel. It induced a full-week pause on listening to any audiobooks. It was THAT bad.

Avoid this at all costs, and support ACTUAL narrators instead of this absolute disaster of an attempt at an audiobook.
