The year is 1938, after the Fall of San Francisco, and Captain Lance and his squadron, The Werewolves of War, are America’s last-best hope against the disintegrating flame and acid bullets of the United Slav Army. It will take luck, guts, and some fancy flying to carry out The Torpedo Plan, foil the enemy spies, and win freedom and glory for America in this science-fiction pulp-adventure classic.

While it is not my first choice of story type (I received it as a gift), it was like listening to a talented friend tell an interesting story.

Enjoyable audio short

Would you consider the audio edition of Werewolves of War to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the book; I got this on a recommendation and I wasn't sure about the subject of the story. However I loved this. The story is immediately engrossing.

What about Colby Elliott’s performance did you like?

I thoroughly enjoyed Colby Elliot reading this. He has a very deep and smooth voice, and he does the characters well. I can see Lance through his voice; I can see the grit and grime of him and that is fantastic.

Any additional comments?

This is not my usual genre, and I got this on the word of someone who assured me I would like it. I wasn't sure but they were right! I loved the alternate universe, and didn't see the plot twist, as it were. I was so busy listening that I didn't think ahead, which is one of my favorite things. I love being surprised, and this book delivered. I have to give a lot of credit to the narrator, because his voice kept me completely engrossed in the present.

I LOVED this!
