Christensen explains two views that acknowledge God's sovereignty and its relation to human responsibility: compatibilism and libertarianism. Providing cogent, biblical answers, Christensen argues for compatibilism and shows how it makes sense of evil, suffering, prayer, evangelism, and sanctification. You will gain a deeper understanding of both arguments, as well as a greater appreciation for the significant role that choices play in God's work.

As someone who genuinely struggles with this issue (which is certainly a second-tier issue), this book did absolutely nothing to advance my understanding or bring more clarity to the position. It also seemed as if the author used an extreme form of Arminianism as the default position of anyone who isn't a Calvinist. This limits a discussion to the straw man version of "anything that isn't Calvinism" vs Calvinism to a very small segment of the opposing view.

There is a lot of fancy word play in the book without any clarity. I would not recommend the book if you are seeking answers. If you just want to reinforce your idea that Calvinism is the superior position, then you won't be disappointed.
