Greg Brisendine
In 1998 Mark died of AIDS, cared for in the end by his lover John and their friend (and nurse) Marcia. Twenty years later, John and Marcia reflect on what they survived that Mark didn't.
In December, 2018 Gay City: Seattle's LGBTQ Center invited a variety of artists who had been present during the AIDS crisis to contribute to a show. Poetry, storytelling, and a short play all highlighted the experience of living through the early days of AIDS. Greg Brisendine and Gretchen Douma wrote and performed What Came After as their contribution to AIDS - It’s In Our Blood: Stories of Love, Loss, Rage, and Survival.
