Almost every religious tradition includes a form of prayer or meditation. That being the case, what exactly characterizes prayer as Jewish?

Jewish prayer utilizes the idioms and expressions of the Hebrew Bible and the sages of Israel. In short, traditional Jewish prayer expresses the fundamental values and beliefs of Judaism.

The goal of this book is to provide the listener with an introduction to the theology of Jewish prayer and some of the basic practices associated with certain key prayers. The objective is to provide the student or novice with sufficient understanding to spur him or her to further study and practice.

I appreciated the reader of this book a lot. Very easy to understand and follow.

Thank you for the lesson in prayers that I needed.

When going on a journey, people have historically used maps to remain on a course until a destination is reached. This reading is a guide that brings the reader closer to G-d through traditional prayers found in the siddur. May those looking for a continuous connection to HaShem find meaning in daily devotions of exalting Him.

Narration was very good but not a native Hebrew speaker (sid-dur-eem not Sid-dir-um). Book was shorter than I thought too. Good overview and a few spots made one think.

Nice general overview
