A gripping psychological tale of lost memories

Imagine waking up on a train with no recollection of how you got there. You have no idea who you are--no name, no memories, no life. The only thing you know is, you cannot tell anyone, especially the police.

By chance or by fate, leaving the train in a beach town, this young woman runs into someone who knows her and gives her a ride home. There she finds two IDs, two sets of keys. One face, but two separate lives.

Claudia Rose, Detective Joel Jovanic, and Dr. Zebediah Gold from Sheila Lowe’s Forensic Handwriting Mystery series play a vital role in helping her uncover a devastating past and learn what she saw that robbed her of her memory.

I enjoyed this story a lot. My attention was grabbed from the opening pages until the end, and I found it hard to drag myself away to complete necessary duties. I felt for the protagonist who had lost her memories, and through the magic of the descriptive phrases I experienced her struggles as she worked to remember who she was. I liked the complex mystery. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I was entertained by Anna Crowe's narration as her performance added to the story's entertainment. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

What She Saw: Beyond the Veil Mystery, Book 1 ( the prequel), my tenth read from author Sheila Lowe features guest appearances from the main characters in the Forensic Handwriting Series. An excellent well-written mystery. With every book she writes Lowe continues to sculpt her craft and gets better & better. The characters likable & attention holding. The plot and the sub-plot were both well-developed. Perhaps even better than Forensic Handwriting Series. I received an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I'll definitely be reading more in this series as new books come up.
Jessica Mack returns in Proof of Life (Beyond the Veil Mystery) due out on February 15. Anna Crowe's narration made an excellent read/listen even more enjoyable. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

An excellent well-written mystery.

It was confusing from the beginning to know which character was Jenna and which was Jessica.

It was horrible what the characters were doing in their lab!

Reading this book incensed me at what was actually going on, but hearing it makes it all so much more emotional and intense. It literally tears my heart out to find out what is going on with Jenna/Jessica. The audio makes the intensity more riveting and impactful. The gaslighting, betrayals, and coverups were stunning. This kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing. I experienced a myriad of emotions while reading this. It is unputdownable and I highly recommend this thriller. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the characters and story to life.

This is the first book I’ve read by Ms.Lowe. It won’t be the last. Ms Lowe commands a slow, methodical, adjective rich descriptions, which create magnificent word pictures. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with this book. The storyline is complex and believable. Like a true thriller novel, the ending was swift and conclusive.

Great listen
