For years, unknown to anyone but one relentless searcher, a wicked man of violence and deception has been living behind a mask of respectability. Before his mask is ripped off, Ruth will experience suspicion, doubt, danger, and fear. Her own life will be at risk. Her own heart, too. Because along with terror and grief comes love. Virtual voice narration sucks, read the book

Really good story, good enough to survive 'virtual voice' reading. AI is developing fast, but this version is definitely NOT ready for retail. Voice sound is pleasant and not entirely bad, but there are (unplanned) silent breaks in sentences, odd (non-english) pronunciations, odd cadence in phrases, and the 'virtual' emotion isn't expressed in congruence with the story and text.

Sweet with a mystery

AI-generated audio but it was pretty good. Enjoyed book set in westward pioneer day. Lawman, bad guy, lady barber/inn keeper, romance, murder!
