Vanessa Tanner, the female lead in the movie, is married to Scott. She quickly becomes the primary suspect in the case. Charlie, who was once engaged to Vanessa, reluctantly agrees to help her.

Then, it gets really strange...

The stories are fun. But the virtual voice is clunky. There’s a Shatner-esque quality to the cadence, where the stops and starts are distracting. And, of course, acronyms are mispronounced—like M.E. (for Medical Examiner) is pronounced “me”. The author narrated the first novel, and that was much easier to listen to.

I enjoyed the story and really liked Charlie and Ben. I enjoyed idea of using the Navajo supernatural treatment-spirits, his Mom and Ben. Also like that the language was not crude. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Comedic handling

I like this series of books; however, I am not a fan of the AI narrations.

Good writing, engrossing story
