The arrangement seems ideal until what was supposed to be temporary starts to look more and more permanent. Then she realizes she does have something to lose - her heart. And, although he doesn’t yet know it, Levi stands to lose even more.

Loved it!!

This story had heart and soul but wish more of her friends lives were part of hers or at least in the story.

Yes, I think the audio edition brings life to both the book and series.

What does Shannon McManus bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think she is a good narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Sort of. However, I enjoyed listening to it in multiple sittings.

Heartfelt Story

This story is about a vagrant veteran and a photographer who is deathly sick and desperately needs a liver transplant to survive. They both meet in a rather unconventional way and soon start to develop a romantic relationship. The characters from the other two books also make an appearance. Although this book was good it wasn't as good as the previous books. I look forward to reading future books from this series.

When Summer Comes (Whiskey Creek, #3) was a great read by Brenda Novak. Callie finds out that she's sick and needs a liver transplant. She knows chances aren't good that she'll get the liver she needs, so she doesn't tell anyone she's close to. She wants to make the most of her time left and moves out to her grandparents farm. One night a stranger knocks on her door with bad injuries. Levi is a mysterious drifter who offers to work on repairing the farm for a few nights of shelter. Callie doesn't realize that she will wind up falling for Levi. I really enjoyed reading Callie and Levi's story and can't wait to read more by Brenda Novak.
