When Time Stands Still

…Malrick slipped into the room as easily as dagger into the heart. His movements were silent, and his black robes blendes into the shadows like lovers intertwined. His plan was going perfectly. That idiot of a King, Rannoth hung on his every word. Rannoth trusted no one but him, and Malrick meant to keep it that way. He smirked just thinking of that simpering boy-king and could hardly keep from laughing out loud. Soon the kingdom would be fully in his control. Soon the Free Kingdoms would be as well.

Back in his high tower room, Malrick gazed into his seeing stone and watched the world for signs of his success. Many in the Kingdom feared Rannoth would soon follow his father into the realm of death. But Malrick had plans for the young king. He would live to see his plans come to pass. He was needed to insure success. No, Rannoth would live…for now…
