It’s the first snow in Rico, CO. The snow is glistening and Nova Beck’s little cafe is bustling. But Nova takes a blow when her best friend winds up dead and a reporter is kidnapped.

Rico has two new visitors looking to find the secret charm of this small town. It was a cold morning and Nova was slinging hot beverages to each customer. Little did she know that murder would find its way into the heart of her world.

With Nova’s surrogate mother, Mama Mia out of town, Nova accepts the help of her friends Bianca and Richard to help keep the cafe afloat during the cold season. Bianca is a free-spirited and loving daughter of old money. Richard is a childhood friend of both Bianca and Nova. The threesome plans an outing that ends with hostile words between two of them.

When the death is ruled a murder, Nova is the first in the crosshairs and the first suspect. Knowing that she is innocent, she and her newly founded friends rush to find the real killer. In the meantime, one of the reporters is kidnapped, complicating the situation. Nova is on a mission to find the true murderer before she is the next to go missing or dead. Will she solve the mystery in time?
