I read the e-book a year ago, but had the pleasure of listening to the audio version now.
This is an amazing dark domestic thriller/horror story!
This is a quick read and it’s one that I didn’t want to put down. This story has lots of twists and turns, some murder, as well as abuse.
There are lots of deep secrets throughout this book and Johanna is lost in her own mind, which is full of confusion, lies and false memories. It’s hard to know who to believe, when you don’t even know who you are! The ending has some great surprises as well!

This author has quickly climbed up on my favorites list! She’s an excellent writer and storyteller!

All versions of the book are out now and I recommend any/all of them! I really enjoyed the audio version though. The narrator did an excellent job. She is very expressive and put heart into the characters.

Great writing!

Who is Johanna Chronicles of R’nan book 1. Feels like a short story with only about four hours and about 190+ pages or so. The author Vivian Vandam released this in 2024 I believe. Some of the themes are horror, thrillers, psychological suspense, sodomy, mental health, rape, drug abuse, cheating, and suicidal thoughts.
Johanna hated sex, hated men, the world, and her confused life, but loved kids and wanted kids and she couldn’t understand why it didn’t happen. Her mind was confused. This is a fairly new author, but I’m very excited to keep on reading other stuff from her.
It is a creepy story, but very well done. I also love the cover of the book! It’s great. The narrator, Amber McCulloch, is great also, with this book she did a great job with all the different voices.
Johanna has a husband she cannot trust and at the end there’s a twist and he gets what he deserves. So, please buy this book and read it. It has a great ending.
This is book number one from the series of 4 but you can read all of them as standalone. Overall it’s a great writing, almost genius honestly, with all the twist and turns it is a must read!
