Second chances are relationship Hail Marys. I'll either win Whitney's love or go home brokenhearted.

Trey:

Whitney Savittieri is the one that got away, and I'll do anything—including strategizing with my teammates—to get her back.

Never mind that she's giving me the stiff arm and wants nothing to do with me. We're going head to head, and I'm playing for keeps.

I've been in a lot of pressure-packed games, but the stakes are higher this time—my heart and my happiness are on the line.

Whitney:

I'm avoiding my ex like the plague—like a really, really handsome plague.

While Trey's risen to fame in the NFL, my life has gone so far off track I've derailed and am careening into a ditch.

So I promised myself I'd never love again. It's too risky—a woman can only take so much disappointment.

Giving us another chance is a mistake my future and my heart can't afford.

Why Trey Let Me Get Away is a second-chance sports romance with all the sizzling chemistry but no spice. It's considered a closed door romantic comedy and is the first book in the Famously In Love duology about two celebrity siblings and their paths to love.

The first half is awesome! So so very funny (that blind date scene!!). I loved the team interactions and the group game-plan. Everything on the Trey side of the house was funny and perfect. But Whitney, wow, she may be one of the worst FMCs I’ve ever encountered. She’s a bitter and toxic character and totally ruined the second half of the book for me.

At first I just found Whitney annoying with her irrational rejection of Trey. It’s key to the storyline that Trey has to fight for her, though, so it was just a matter of Keisel being insufficient in her justification of the FMC’s behavior. Then Keisel DOES justify it, but by revealing just how thoroughly rotten she is as a person… and now what’s unrealistic is Trey pursuing her at all, cause she’s just THAT terrible.

So yeah, disappointing after such an amazing start.

For the audiobook: Several people have commented that they don’t like the female narrator because she sounds annoyed. I happen to think she was perfect for the role (even in the first half when I liked the FMC better). The FMC IS annoyed and the narrator does a great job portraying her. And that blind date scene? I don’t know how she pulled that off without cracking up, so impressive 😂

Content:
There’s no foul language, sex, or violence. The romance is limited to heated but only mildly descriptive kisses. There is no mention of faith or God

Terrible FMC

I loved the novel it was cute and captivating, the male actor was great, but I almost didn't finish the book because of how awful the female voice actor was. Her voice is annoying and her pronunciation of thing isn't always great half of the times, if not more, when she says ESPN it sounds like ESBN.

cute story!

Didn’t love the female narration. She sounded annoyed the whole book but that also somewhat fit the character. Make narration was excellent. Entertaining but frustrating at the same time.

Wanted to love it but didn’t

Kourtney uses Amanda for all her audio books and she always sounds annoyed. Ever female in the book comes across as the person no one wants to be friends with because they always have a chip on their shoulder—-She stinks at the flirty banter even though Kourtney’s writing is fabulous on the banter!! I wish she’d change female readers- they must be best friends..

Everything else is great-

Amanda fry
