From the author's leather-bound book kept locked at the base of his bed, we journey through New York City, chilled farmlands and isolated cabins in the woods. Calloway's solid masculine approach is refreshingly original.

We have all felt the warmth of the world around us and we have all felt the cold. This author holds our hand as he leads us down rich passageways of the psyche. An exploration of joy and loneliness told in stories and personal notes from a rich imagination with a gift for growing roses in the snow.

From the first page I was engrossed. This book is warm, relatable and authentic. I was taken to heavy, moody places then lifted to light and love just as he promised in his dialogue. The work flows like a movie. I recommend giving yourself the time to listen in one setting. The nature chapter is playfully fun and after that the best stories begin, taking you on a thoughtful ride of emotions. This book touched my heart and I will listen to it when I am in need of a friend.

A wholehearted tapestry of beauty!

Austin is a brilliant writer. I felt the pain and loneliness in his words and also rejoiced in his happiness. This is beautifully written!

The loneliness is palpable in this book

As a native Spanish speaker, and someone who mostly reads fiction and non-fiction, this audiobook was the perfect introduction to poetry in English for me. I loved it.

Winter feels like A.C. Callaway opens a window into the more personal aspects of his life. It feels honest and intimate.

What made me choose Winter over his other books was realizing that he narrates it himself. He has a great voice for poetry. That made the experience even more intimate.

Loved how he absolutely nails the New Mexico landscape, every part of it: the places, the mood, the atmosphere.

I finished this audiobook with a great taste in my mouth. I’m already on my way to my second book by him, The Melody Lunch, which I’m very much looking forward to.

I highly recommend this book!

I enjoyed reading this title. AC Calloway shows us the true power of the heart and the power of people. And shows us the connection that people and humanity can that makes life meaningful. Already started AC Calloway's next read The Bluebirds of Black Lake.

Great read!
