From the USA Today bestselling author of The Story of Us and Fisher's Light comes a new, standalone novel - a heartwrenching story about second chances that will make you fall in love all over again.

Five years. I would've stayed away longer if I hadn't received the letter. Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about her, haven't missed her smile, haven't wished that things were different.
The last time I saw my two best friends, I vowed to not stand in the way of their happiness, even if that meant I couldn't be a part of their lives. Cameron James and her emerald-green eyes were too much of a temptation and I couldn't stay and watch them together. Cameron deserved better than me. She deserved him.
But now that I am back, things are different. I'm not going to stand by and watch the woman I've always loved slip away again. I'm done living my life with regrets and I'm ready to tell her the truth. And I'll do whatever it takes to show her that I always wished she was mine.

Excellent narration and a sweet story! Sometimes a little long-winded. Listened to the end though.

Enjoyable

This is my first book by Tara Sivec. I am not usually one to enjoy a book with any mystery, but the allure of this book sucked me in and kept me on my toes until the end. Readers should be mature, as there are multiple intimate scenes, but they are further along in the book, almost classifying it a slow burn romance. Both the revelation about midbook and the plot twist near the end made me absolutely love this book. The narration was good... Felicity Hart is one of my FAVES, she makes the characters so real. Tara writes the love story so that you can feel the emotion in her words and that was one of my favorite aspects of the book. This was an easy read and I was invested until the last word. Friends to lovers romance.

Plot Twist!!

The story was good. I can’t lie...it got a little frustrating when the H and h kept making life decisions about each other without TALKING to each other about them! But the end result more than made up for a couple of eyerolls.
The narrators were good. They did a fine job. I would listen to each of them again.
This author is relatively new to me. So far, everything I’ve read of hers has had me coming back for more. I like her style, her characters are very likable, her storylines are not the cookie-cutter type and her dialogue is engaging.
Overall, 4 stars because the narrators didn’t blow me away and because of a few eyerolls. That being said, I would absolutely recommend this book. :)

Good story, good narration

While I was listening, I got lost on the time line. One chapter the story went back to the past, the next was in the present time. The writer did not reminder the lister if this was present or past. Instead, the story just kept going.
That said, I loved the performance more than the story. I loved to listen to Edwards voice. He made the story so much better. Overall I would recommend to romance lovers.
