Hermione meets Harry Dresden.

Jax is the only girl wizard in the Copperfield Institute, a magic academy. Will she ever fit in? And with the kind of sharp wit and potent power she possesses, does she even want to?

Jax has a troubled past and an uncertain future. The rotten witch coven at the Copperfield Institute won’t let her forget it. Isadora Crowe - spiteful, smug Izzy - in particular, is making her life hell.

Luckily, she has a super-smart dwarf on her side and an unmatched ability to sling potent spells. When the day dawns for the National Magical Archery Championship, Jax realizes that the witches are the least of her problems.

Will Jax survive the battle? It’s not looking likely...although, she does have a knack for surprising people.

I love a good witch story. This short story was interesting and well put together and narrated. I can’t wait to listen to more of the Blood Magic books.

This is a wonderful quick short story written and narrated by two of my favorite people! JT Lawrence and Roshina Ratnam together simply magical...
Witches Get Stitches happens to be a prequel to the Blood Magic series, and it gives us a peek into who Jax is, and the hard knock life she grew up in. No wonder why she has trust issues...

My first bookish love (besides poetry) was sword and sorcery. This fits right into my original love. And, as a brilliant bonus, it's written in my own country. Tbere's something exciting about hearing names you're familiar with in stories you're reading/listening to/watching.

This is ultimately a story about overcoming bullying because, you are believed by someone who is in control, and as such feeling empowered. And also, about saving the "world" I'm very excited to read the series :)

Roshina Ratnam has really come a long way in her narration from Sticky Fingers, which seemed a little stilted, and her narration flows more naturally now.

Great little story

This is for this series what say the first few chapters of Harry Potter was to that series. It will introduce you to the MC and the world of magic and muggles that she lives in. It isn’t going to be easy being a female wizard rather than a female witch but she will make it happen. It didn’t hurt when you are also one badass with a crossbow too.

A good novella intro to this world and it’s characters

This story is a brief but interesting look back at an earlier (and likely highly formative) episode in Jax's life, the main character in the Blood Magic series. I highly enjoyed it. It was very engaging and immediately easy to get into, always a must for a short story. It can stand alone, but the weight and significance of what happens - and the provided background - will definitely be more meaningful in context of having read at least the first entry of the Blood Magic main series.

And no review of mine of a Roshina-narrated work would be complete without giving her a shoutout! You nailed it as always, Roshina. You have the perfect voice to capture the essence of Jax.

Well done all around.
