She’s secretly searching for answers. He’s hiding from his past. When the two collide, will their enemies be the death of them or the answer to a new life?

Gage Rogers doesn’t expect two hard years spent deep undercover to land him in witness protection, but when a trusted ally blows his cover, assuming a new identity is the only way to stay alive. When a flat tire leaves journalist Morgan Stevens stranded in front of an out of town bar, her instant attraction to the rugged man behind the counter catches her off guard. Between Morgan’s new assignment and her budding relationship, life is perfect. Well, except for her nagging sense of dread. She can’t understand why Gage never talks about his past. What is he trying so hard to hide?

Virtual voice is not ready for audio books! I had trouble focusing on the story because the “narrator” placed emphasis on all the wrong things. It could handle things like Mmm or phft. It confused words like wound (an injury) with wound (she was wound up). It made things sound like questions when they weren’t. It was awful! I stoped listening several times because of this. But I wanted to know how the story played out. If I get the next book in the series it won’t be on audio.
