Joseph had always been the funny one. It had worked when he had loved the single life, but now he wanted to be mated. He was sure Gretchen wanted him, but something had changed. His old and less than serious ways had returned, but he no longer cared to play around with the females.
Gretchen felt she was suffering enough just being here. She’d seen Joanie, her cousin, go through her change and heard it could be worse. That wasn’t for her, and she didn’t trust Joseph not to bite. He was a wolf after all. She still loved him, but not enough to suffer like that.
