Dusty and Crow are still wolves, put there by their own banishment after killing a human being, even if he desperately needed killing. It is the law in the shape-shifter's world. But now, hell has come to Lincoln County, MT. An evil werewolf Master, sensing the vulnerability of the county with Dusty gone, has set up home. His minions are killing unmercifully, feeding on human prey, and no one human can stop them. Sheriff Osten hires a 'shifter witch to find Dusty and Crow, and try to bring them back, for it is imperative they return, There is an all out war in the high country! Osten needs them serving as both wolf and man, leading the fray. But, they need to survive on both sides of the pale, and the Master cannot allow either.
