This is a selection of the myths and legends of Scotland, filled with local color, from Scottish journalist, folklorist, and writer Donald Alexander Mackenzie. These stories offer not only glimpses of ancient times and of old habits of thought and life but also of the country itself at different times of the year.

This collection of tales from the Scots correlates with those from Wales and Ireland and seem less doom and gloom than those of the mainland. Magic, adventure, giants, and goddesses populate this interest collection.
Chekijian gave a fine audio performance once again.

The Narrator has a very enjoyable and appropriate voice for the material, but he did not use his instrument well. I wish he would’ve infused the writing with more inflection and wonder. As a result I found it difficult to receive and absorb the information which was less storytelling than it was more telling about the lore without enlivening with the stories themselves.
Because I don’t have enough of a background in this subject, I can’t speak to it’s accuracy.
