This time, each knitter will get a Mystery Bag of knitting materials to turn into a personal project. But Casey gets tangled up in another retreat at the same hotel, when the organizer and his wife have a very public spat. As Casey is delivering her baked goods later that night, she finds the woman dead in the bushes with a magician's silk scarf nearby - just like the scarf Casey's ex-boyfriend, Sammy, used during his magic act at the retreat. As Sammy takes center stage as the prime suspect, Casey and her friends will have to stitch together the clues before the real killer pulls a disappearing act.

Lots of fun and a very cozy mystery

This is a fun mystery set in the town of Pacific Grove here named Cadbury by the Sea and the retreat center Asilomar here named Vista del Mar. I live in Pacific Grove and most of the details are spot on. I’m also a knitter and spinner of yarn so that makes these extra fun.

Enjoyable cozy mystery....

Betty Hechtman has created a wonderful cozy mystery series with well rounded characters. Margaret Strom gives a nice performance bringing it all to life.

This is my third in a row of this series and I can’t finish this one. The narrator is worse in this one than the last ones. She can’t figure out what cadence to read at. She reads slowly sometimes and annunciates every single word but will go back to reading normally the next sentence.

Loved it!!
