True crime comes to town…

… with dire consequences.

As a cold case stalks Main Street.

Lydia Everett escapes a kidnapper, and she’s not the only victim. A local author is also snatched but doesn’t make it back alive. Before the body cools, Lydia’s entrenched in a mystery more confusing than her average case.

The new barista knows more than she admits.

Lydia confronts the girl only to be taken once again.

The young coffee slinger, Penny, may have a knack for spotting doom. That doesn’t mean she can do anything about it. Penny is shoved into a van and carted away before trusting Lydia with her secret.

Now they’re both trapped.

Can their friends find them before their kidnappers lose patience?

Lydia’s pals investigate as a freak storm floods the town. Will they free their leader, or will the evidence sweep them away?

You’ll be hooked from the first clue because these homeschool moms will stop at nothing to save one of their own in book 6 of this small town Christian Suspense series.

I enjoyed the story as much as I could, in spite of the AI Virtual Voice narrator. The narration had so many incorrect inflections and absolutely zero personality for the characters. The normal narrator has voice changes for the characters. Also, the virtual voice pronounced several names “wrong” or differently than the live narrator. It made some parts of the story a bit harder to follow. Please go back to the narrator that read the previous books!

Good story; hate the Virtual Voice narrator

It's hard to choose a favorite when reading the Honey Pot mystery series. I laughed, cried, and held my breath with the most relatable characters I've ever meet. I stayed up way too late finishing it. It was only after I put the book down I realized I'd been holding my breath! I can't wait to start the next one!
