The winter of 1886-1887 is severe, devastating the cattle industry, and the McCabe Ranch is no exception. With most of the herd gone, and bankruptcy hanging over their heads, the family has to decide what direction their future might line in. Meanwhile, Dusty must deal with the return of the outlaw who raised him—Sam Patterson.
