Even before Lightson could begin to understand how he mysteriously woke up in the strange land of Shreik-Daila, he finds that his life is at risk. As he runs into stranger and more dangerous places by the day, he is also supported by new and unusual friends: a dwarf, a lion-bear, a scholarly worm, and a 150-year-old teenage girl. Together they brave the deadly woods of Zakhirkoot, the one place where the writ of the tyrannical king of this realm, doesn't hold. Scuffling with death itself, the five companions seek an old merchant who might have some answers. But soon they find themselves in the midst of an epic battle. This journey teaches them perseverance, sacrifice and wisdom.

Zakhirkoot is the story of this boy's quest to solve this enigma and return home to his mother. Neither the travelers nor the listener will remain unchanged once the adventure reaches its climax.

An adventure awaits

From the beginning the narrator draws you in to this wonderful adventure that can be enjoyed by all ages. You can tell that the writer wanted you to know the characters and their differences, they are described so vividly. This is a great listen, story, and the narrators did an amazing job. I would recommend this book to my family and friends.

Great book for all who love adventure and fantasy! Would definitely recommend to all! The narration is really interesting too!

Riveting Story

Great book. This book is nostalgic in an unexplainable sort of a way. It is one of those stories that transport you to a different place and you too will be embarking on a great adventure along with the protagonist. Enjoyable listen in the car with the kids too.

Entertaining and interesting.

I read the novel last year and been awaiting for the sequel since then. Instead came this surprise first. Loved the beginning .... of what I believe is going to be a long long journey with many adventures across multiple realms in many to come books.

Zakhirkoot=Outstanding!

This book was outstanding! I fell in love with all of the characters and was not lost or bored for one second. The author takes you on a trip to some absolutely different worlds that will have your brain thirsting for more. I hope this author makes a series for Zakhirkoot as I truly enjoyed this book. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
