Healing can feel unexpectedly lonely once the crisis passes and life returns to “normal.” Today, I talk honestly about a deeper layer many women experience but rarely say out loud: the double standard in affair recovery, and why it often feels like women carry the weight of shame while men are given more space to “struggle.”
I share my own experience of searching for resources and finding none, the internal shame that filled that silence, and why so many women feel unseen in this journey.
We explore:
- Why women often carry more visible shame after an affair - The gap in resources for women navigating their own betrayal story - How shame keeps women silent and reinforces the feeling of isolation - Why the Church and culture haven’t always known how to hold women in this well - How we begin to shift the culture by becoming safe, honest, connected women
If you’ve ever felt like you’re the only one- you’re not. And you don’t have to carry this alone anymore 🤍
