    Mar 13 2026

Growing up, we were fans of The X-Files. Reboots have been a mixed bag, however. That does not stop us from being excited about Ryan Coogler’s upcoming take on the series. As we speculated last week, The Last Drive-In aired its final episode. According to those in the know, there will be more to come.

The first movie this show throws a lot at the wall. It is a supernatural horror movie with a haunted house, ghosts, and cursed objects. Plus, there are twins, a blind medium, and a monster. Oddity makes it work thanks to patient writing and some of the best placed scares we have ever seen.

We have covered lots of found footage on our show. Bodycam is the first one to make one of us feel physically ill. And it had nothing to do with what is in the movie. Its chaotic pacing and extra shaky shaky cam will make this a difficult watch for anyone with a weak stomach.

It does try to do something different by having a semblance of a plot. This works until it doesn’t. After a great set-up, Bodycam runs out of ideas. The first and biggest issue happens almost immediately. There is no reason for anything in the movie to be happening. As things progress, it becomes more convoluted and less enjoyable. Maybe it is better for found footage movies to have no plot.

  • Episode 356: 'Corey Feldman vs the World'(2026)/'Dolly'(2026
    Mar 6 2026

The horror community continues to be rocked with sad news. Bruce Campbell’s announcement is one of the most painful. The latest installment of the Scream franchise has polarized audiences, but has not stopped it from being a success. Will the Maniac Cop reboot do as well?

There is no doubt that Corey Feldman was one of the biggest stars of the 1980s. What has been lost in all the nonsense that has plagued his life since then is what an amazing actor he was. We jumped at the chance to review Corey Feldman vs the World.

In a documentary filled with shocking moments, the biggest may be that it has little to do with his acting heyday and is still a riveting watch. It can be described as a cautionary tale, a trashy reality show, and a story about a villain who is also a victim. With unprecedented access and an interesting approach to documentary filmmaking, it is a must-watch.

There was a time when exploitation movies did not care about story. It was all about characters and moments and pushing things to the extreme. It did not always work out, but the results were pretty amazing when it did. Still, with the changing times came a decrease in these types of films.

Dolly is a throwback to those simpler times. It is a battle for survival that is all about gore and attrition. It will end up being one of the most disgusting things released this year. The protagonist/antagonist dynamic is fantastic and the grainy look adds to the tense atmosphere.

  • Episode 355: 'The Last Sacrifice' (2026)/ 'The Dreadful' (2026)
    Feb 20 2026

We have more Mike Flanagan news this week. With the release date of his Carrie series we discuss what we would like to see from the show. Predator: Badlands recently released on Hulu and did record numbers. We talk about what this means for the franchise.

We have been lucky to cover some fantastic true crime documentaries on our humble little podcast. We have also seen some great folk horror. We never thought the two would come together. The Last Sacrifice does just that in a surprising documentary.

There have been plenty of movies that have been moving along nicely when they suddenly lose the plot. Things become a mess at that point and it is pretty much impossible to get things back on track. A strong argument can be made that The Last Sacrifice loses its way. But it is one of the most fascinating tangents you will ever see. And it ultimately does tie into the greater mystery.

The Dreadful will draw lots of attention for its casting of Kit Harrington and Sophie Turner. But it is a performance from another actor that steals the show. The film covers some deep themes and is bolstered by its fantastic setting.

But one missed opportunity prevents it from being something truly special. A character driven psychological horror, The Dreadful does not necessarily need a Big Bad, but when it introduces one, it is hard not to expect more from it. And to be supremely disappointed when nothing comes of it.
