Antigone and Ismene, the daughters of Oedipus, discuss the disaster that has just befallen them. Their brothers Polynices and Eteocles have killed one another in a battle for control over Thebes. Creon who now rules the city, refuses Polynices proper burial rites. Family loyalties, bloody warfare and an edict that one sister cannot honour. The third part of Sophocles masterpiece comes to its dramatic conclusion, in a stunning new production.©2016 Audible, Ltd. (P)2016 Audible, Ltd.

I’d highly recommend this series to anyone who’s interested. I recently finished a course on YT about “The Philosophy of Greek Tragedy” by Professor Michael Davis, which was 10/10 and this series made for a perfect pairing to go with it.

Excellent production!

It was much more enjoyable listening to this than trying to read it. Listening does make it harder to remember the names of the characters, since they are unusual. This is where I believe the book would be helpful.

Cast did a wonderful job.

A very poignant performance of the wonderful Greek classic. I highly refined it for everyone.

I love it!

So cool to hear it in a similar way to how it was meant to be delivered and great voice acting. Moving stories that still resonate millennia later.

Beautifully done. I did the other two plays in the Oedipus cycle with this series and was able to finish it in two days and I will use it again following along with the book .

Well Done
