“The act of reducing harm in any fashion should never be under political assault...I believe in bodily autonomy. If somebody is consciously making those decisions, then let's help them make better decisions so they are not harming other people and themselves, or reducing harm to themselves. We can support harm reduction, or, we can support death.” –Ryan Hampton

Chris's amazing book, The Indie Spiritualist brought me here. I started reading that little by little - usually no more than a chapter, sometimes just a page or two at a time - in a state of absolute desperation.
When the sunrise brings nothing but the realization I'd added another night to yet another bender, Chris's no bullshit, realistically honest approach to his long journey through addiction and recovery has helped inspire me to take even the smallest steps towards reducing harm... Even if I just wait a little longer before my next fix, or find my Narcan before getting high, I know it's progress that's worth doing.
Someday I'll actually finish his book, but in the meantime I'm excited to start exploring this podcast. 💜🪬🕉️💚
