  • Why Your Space Won't Stay Tidy (and The Fix) | Clutterbug Podcast #318
    Mar 23 2026
Hey Clutterbugs! Today, I’ll help you declutter, clear your kitchen counters, and build simple home organization systems that actually stay tidy. You’re not messy, you just organize differently! Together, we’ll find the system that fits your brain: I’ll show you how to read your clutter as feedback, and your life will change. In this episode, we’re getting super practical: we’re going to work backwards from your clutter to figure out why your house keeps getting messy, and what to change so it finally feels easier to maintain. We’ll talk about: - Why organization is not one-size-fits-all (and why “traditional” systems fail so many of us) - How to read the mess as feedback (not judgment) and “debug” your home - Building systems for your worst-day self, not your Pinterest best day - And the three biggest breakdowns that keep homes messy Want to get organized? • Japanese Organizing that WORKS (Even With ADHD) | Clutterbug Podcast #317
    Mar 16 2026
Hey Clutterbugs! Let’s stop making piles and use tiny 1% changes to organize our homes without overwhelm. In this podcast, we’re using Japanese organizing ideas (Kaizen, 5S, Wabi-Sabi, “Mottainai”) to declutter, build simple systems, and keep the house tidy longer. And we’re doing this together (not in a “make 47 piles and cry about it for 60 days” way). This is a mini‑challenge episode where you make tiny micro improvements while you listen . . . and end the podcast feeling weirdly proud of yourself. We’re talking:Kaizen: small steps that actually add up (especially for ADHD brains)Why pulling everything out is a trap (and what to do instead)The “don’t go on Amazon for bins” rule (you know who you are)The 5S system (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) — Toyota vibes, but for your houseMottainai (“what a waste”): the guilt-free decluttering mindset shiftWabi-Sabi organizing: good‑enough systems that are easy to maintainLet’s get to it! • I Stopped Rescuing Everyone . . . and My House Got Better | Clutterbug Podcast #316
    Mar 9 2026
Hey Clutterbugs! People pleasing, mental load, and mom burnout are a direct route to clutter, resentment, and overwhelm. If you feel like you do everything (cleaning, chores, meals, schedules, emotional labor), I’m going to show you how to stop over-functioning so your kids and partner finally step up.Today, I’m talking with JoAnn Crohn (No Guilt Mom) about boundaries, emotional regulation, and why “it’s easier if I do it myself” is a little lie we tell ourselves.I also break down what people-pleasing looks like inside a home (rescuing, perfectionism, avoiding “nagging”), what it leads to, and how to build household systems that don’t depend on me, or you, doing everything. In this episode, you’ll learn: - How to spot people-pleasing at home (and why it creates clutter + burnout)- How to reduce the mental load and stop being the household manager- What boundaries actually sound like with kids and your spouse (and what to do when they push back)- Why letting your family struggle a little builds competence and confidence- JoAnn’s Lotus Framework + “mind-body-unicorn time” (so you have a life outside the house)- How to create home systems everyone can follow, not just you You can find more Clutterbug content here: Main YouTube Channel: @Clutterbug Website: http://www.clutterbug.me TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@clutterbug_me Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/clutterbug_me/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Clutterbug.Me/ For more from JoAnn: https://www.noguiltmom.com/ #PeoplePleasing #MentalLoad #MomBurnout #Boundaries #EmotionalLabor #Resentment #OverwhelmedMom #FamilyChores #HouseholdManagement #HomeOrganization #Decluttering #OrganizingTips #Clutterbug #EmotionalRegulation #NoGuiltMom Learn more about your ad choices. Cass’s Clutterbug podcast is one of my “go to” podcasts as I work on decluttering, housework, and when I need some motivation, encouragement, or just want to learn something to grow as a person. I discovered her first on YouTube several years ago (or maybe my mom shared one of the episodes with me about the different organization styles) and then later found her podcast. I have learned so much. And shared what I’ve learned with friends. :)
One friend and I will share things that happen and be like “Cass said—” or “this reminds me of when Cass—” The other day I found a “dinosaur” (iykyk) and shared a pic with my friend to share a laugh before throwing it away. Thank you, Cass!!!

Love Cass

This is one of my recharge methods too. I love the very word pudder. Yesterday was a day just as she describes, slow and steady. I spent the day drifting from one little easy short task to the next, no pressure. I also like listening to podcasts or movies and stopping for a sip or two of coffee as I pudder.

I’ve listened to this episode probably 10 times because it really helps to identify how clutter is holding you back psychologically.
