This second Sleep Better episode of Peak Relaxation is a mish-mash of a various types of meditations starting with quick visualization meditation, followed by focused attention meditation, followed by body scan meditation, again followed by focused attention meditation. This feels a bit much just for 10 minutes of bedtime sleep meditation in the sense, it should have rather been just one type and done well instead of rushing with so many types in such short time.

The speed at which this sleep meditation is played is a joke. Just to demonstrate an example, the following audio excerpt of body scan meditation occurs from 04:23 to 04:39 -

“Bring your awareness to your left hand, your left thumb, first finger, second finger, third finger, fourth finger, your entire left hand is still.”

That is 16 seconds of body scan meditation on left hand and I am not sure even robots and machines can relax so quick let alone humans. And, if humans could relax so fast, there would be no chronic diseases and disorders and no psychological and emotional condition such as depression, anxiety, etc., Not sure how such simple relaxing meditation can be made so messy. Also, Jade’s narrative tone is very instructive, a sense of strictness with no touch of comfort or calmness or whatsoever. She reminded me of military. :)

Too many types of meditation mish-mashes
