Neal is terrified for Elijah's safety in Texas, where guns are as prevalent as popcorn. They visit a gun club in San Antonio to learn how to shoot responsibly, interview an anti-campus carry activist about how to protest guns using sex toys, and talk to a parent who lost her son to gun violence. But Elijah still thinks guns are cool.©2016 Audible Originals, LLC (P)2016 Audible Originals, LLC

They spoke with a trainer at a gun range, and with a couple people who had anecdotes and were activists. Interesting that Elijah’s plans for having a gun did change by the end of the episode. Would have been nice to learn a little more about gun safety, and have a few statistics. Things like keeping the gun unloaded, and storing ammo separate from the gun. After all, when it comes to guns, safety is our first priority for our kids, right?

My dad and two uncles taught me, my siblings, and our cousins how to shoot when we were young. My dad and uncles keep their guns locked up in a safe, so no one touches them until we get to the shooting range. When we get home, my dad cleans the guns, then locks them back in the safe.

Now that we are older, me, my siblings, and my cousins don’t own guns. Being taught how to shoot and gun safety at a young age changed how we view guns.

I’m glad Neil and Elijah went to a shooting range, and spoke to people who are both for and against stricter gun laws. I also learned that the laws in the State of Texas are very strange.

Gun laws and sex toy laws, all in 1 episode!
