I was so glad to hear our hostesses engage the discussion on Lover’s Vows in Mansfield Park. This part of the book creeps me out every time I read it or watch the movie. But I loved the actual historical context and origin information on the play. These ladies do their research. Kudos.

I really wish I had heard this two years ago. I had finally gathered my courage to join the local JASNA group and of all things they were doing Mansfield Park that year. The whole year. My least favorite book of Jane’s. I read and listened to the book multiple times, and reached the same conclusion at the end of the year; that MF is like watching a train wreck in really slow motion.

Well, I learned a lot and found a great group of people. Did I like the book any better? No. But the information the Ladies here share, with so much entertainment added makes me appreciate Austen’s work much more than ever.
