The first Donor series stayed with me for a long time and having this second one felt like closure. Not necessarily a redemption story, more a change in perspective, it is a good reminder that life is full of gray. Great listen, smart writing, love the flow and the narration is excellent. Listen to the first one first.

Loved this follow up piece!

I had listened to part I and almost did not listen to this one because I felt I knew enough about the situation. Boy was I wrong! This is a story about human weakness and forgiveness; about accepting each other including our faults; about the stigma of mental illness and how that limits our ability to deal with it.

Surprising

Dov Fox is a masterful storyteller. He is not afraid to ask the hard questions and cross important boundaries especially in understanding mental health. There is no way you can not be upset about what Donor 9623 did by not sharing his fully true self to prospective moms that would choose him. Yet, the time had come for at least one mother to explore the man she picked as her son’s donor. Would she allow her son to meet Donor 9623? Go listen to find out. You may be very surprised how this turns out. I certainly was …

Fascinating

This is a mind-boggling story, beautifully told. The longer it goes on, the more nuanced and interesting it gets. I found myself reflecting even more than the first season on the implications for my own parenting. (You must listen to the first season first btw.) And every time I found myself getting upset, the narrator (Dov Fox) seems to jump in and ask my exact question in a far more compassionate way. He’s very good. Fingers crossed, there will be a season 3, and 4, and 5.

Just gets better and better…absolutely fascinating!
