Welcome Back to the Table! We are letting our inner Book-Goblins out today! Join Arcadia, Malcolm, Tori and Jess for a look at some old school tomes from our library of tomes. Today Tori opens up with a little compare and contrast on two sources for everything from little minions to BBEGs. The stories behind the releases and inclusions of both the Monster Manual for AD&D and subsequently, the Fiend Folio follow all the delicious twists and turns that a 1980’s TSR publishing effort offers and shows us how and why some ideas, images and even monsters do and don’t live on from version to version. After the break Malcolm cracks up the much-discussed 1985 “Gygaxian Gift” of AD&D’s Unearthed Arcana. A supplement as famous for its inclusions of new character classes, playable races and new magic as it was for its glaring errors, OP rules application and potential as desperate grab for cash under weight of a beleaguered company. But damn…that Easley cover art! Enjoy the fun as we get into our books a bit and make sure to like, subscribe and support the podcast below!

Welcome Back to the Table! Today Arcadia, Tori, Malcolm and Jess sit down to discuss the Terry Pratchett Disc World RPG update as presented by Mordiphius Games. What we know, what we like and a bit on what others are saying about the game. We take some time to step in the setting, nod to the books and media that in doubt influenced the game and explore what, if any niche space the game has in a crowded Narrative Driven IP RPG market. After a break we go further into the art and playstyle of the game and its potential to allow players satirical narrative resolution in place of dice, tables and cards. While we all agree a table like ours might make use of the best parts of the game and world, that it is not for all tables and doesn’t stroke the brains of those character optimization, statistical complexity, group battle players. Judge it for yourself and let us know your thoughts!
