From Engineering to Underwriting with Stefan Mathijssen

• Stefan Mathijssen is the Vice President, Engineering Property & Engineering Underwriter at Munich Re. Having trained as an engineer Stefan specialized in semiconductors for solar energy before transitioning into the insurance industry. In 2013 he took a job in the engineering pool at Munich Re in Germany where he began working his way up the ranks of the company. Stefan transferred to the Singapore branch in 2015 and 4 years later accepted his current role at the organization's New York Office.
