  • Book Tour Interview with Matt Dinniman, author of Operation Bounce House
    Feb 27 2026

    Hello Crawlers!

This week we've got a special surprise for y'all! We were invited to host Matt Dinniman on the Austin stop of his current book tour for 'Operation Bounce House'. The event was held at the First Baptist Church in downtown Austin on the evening of February 17th, 2026. We discussed the book, DCC, and took audience questions.

For a behind the scenes discussion on the event, sign up at patreon.com/hellocrawlers (and help support the show!).

Be sure to hit up your local bookstore to snag 'Operation Bounce House' as well.

Special thanks to the folks at BookPeople here is Austin who helped put the whole thing on as well as Ariana and Stephanie with Penguin Random House for all the coordination.

And a shout out to my homies Mikal Boyd and Michael Moody-Garcia at Record ATX for helping to film and record the whole thing!

Well there crawlers this is definitely worth your time. As we await the next book, I was going to do a new run through anyway, but doing it alongside these three has been awesome!

Great job - does the source material justice!

I am so glad I came across this podcast! The hosts (Grant, Martin, and John) not only review and recap the DCC audiobooks, they offer truly insightful commentary and analysis of the books, as well. These guys are obviously well-versed in critiquing books (or other storytelling media) and discuss the basics like character development, themes, and plot, but also situate the series within the context of its genre(s) and the literary conventions of those genres. In short, the hosts discuss the books both as readers and as book critics, and always in a very accessible way.
I highly recommend this podcast for anyone who, like me, has a void in their life where other DCC fans should be. I’m a middle-aged woman who never played RPG or read/listened to LitRPG before the DCC books, and I tried DCC on a whim. I became obsessed about halfway through the first book, but sadly, I have not been able to convince any of my family or friends to listen to the series. I’m still trying though, and this podcast’s smart, fun discussions help fulfill my need to talk at ridiculous lengths about these crazy books.

Excellent and insightful

I love Dungeon Crawler Carl and listening to these guys talk about the series. They get into the most interesting parts of each section and they're clearly having a great time, which makes it fun to listen to. I'm only bummed I didn't find the podcast when there were more episodes.

New Achievement-compelling podcast!
