Okay... The Winnipeg Jets slayed the latest dragon Tuesday night, knocking off the Vegas Golden Knights 4-1. Now comes the real test. A massive home-and-home with the Colorado Avalanche looms Thursday and Saturday -- and it may not be an overstatement to say the season hangs in the balance if Winnipeg can’t come away with at least three or four points. Cam doesn’t think that’s hyperbole. He dug into the remaining schedules for the Nashville Predators, Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks, and Seattle Kraken -- the teams battling for that final Western wild card spot -- to see who might have the clearest path down the stretch. And the results? You might be surprised -- especially when it comes to Nashville and Los Angeles. Plus, Bob Irving, a major voice on 680 CJOB, joins the show to share his thoughts on the Jets’ win over Vegas and what lies ahead over the final 11 games. We’ll also dive into which elite NHL defenseman is driving the most production at five-on-five -- and whether the Ottawa Senators have laid out a blueprint the Jets can follow to reach the postseason. Let’s take a quick look at the math -- and the reality -- facing the Winnipeg Jets with just 12 games left in the NHL regular season. According to Moneypuck, Winnipeg’s playoff odds sit at just 6.5 percent. That means there’s almost no margin for error as they host the Vegas Golden Knights Tuesday night at Canada Life Centre. And it’s not just about what the Jets do -- they’ll need help. All four teams they’re chasing are in action tonight. The Nashville Predators take on the San Jose Sharks, the Los Angeles Kings visit the Calgary Flames, and the Seattle Kraken are in Florida against the Florida Panthers. As it stands this morning, Winnipeg has 70 points -- tied with San Jose, who also hold two games in hand. Seattle sits at 71, Los Angeles at 73, and Nashville holds the final playoff spot with 75. So with the odds stacked this high, what keeps a team pushing forward? We’ll get some perspective from coach, player, and contributor Dwayne Gylywoychuk, who joins Cam and Jim to break it down.
