Nick Pivetta set the tone early with a dominant outing, striking out 8 over 5 shutout innings while allowing just ONE hit. From there, the Padres bullpen slammed the door, finishing with 14 total strikeouts and holding the Giants to just 4 hits and 1 run. Offensively, this was the version of the Padres we’ve been waiting for — pressure early, execution in the middle innings, and a knockout punch late. Ramón Laureano delivered the biggest swing of the night with a two-run home run in the 8th inning, part of a 4-run frame that blew the game open.
