In this episode, we read Luke chapters 2 and 3, where the birth and early life of Jesus unfold, followed by the preparation for His ministry. Chapter 2 tells the familiar and powerful story of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem, the announcement to the shepherds, and the joy surrounding the arrival of the Savior. We also see glimpses of Jesus’ early life, including His time in the temple as a young boy.
Chapter 3 introduces John the Baptist, who prepares the way for Jesus by calling people to repentance and baptism. It also includes the genealogy of Jesus and His own baptism, marking the beginning of His public ministry.
Luke 2–3 reminds us that God’s plan of salvation entered the world in humility, yet with great purpose, and that preparing our hearts through repentance and faith is essential to receiving Him.
