When I was asked to compose a song for 'Kathodu Kathoram' in 1985, I wasn't familiar with that process. I hadn't done anything like that before. I told my friend, guitarist John Antony, 'Johnie, do this: I'll play a tune on the violin, and you play the chords.' That day, I recorded it on a small tape recorder and submitted the tune.
